Previous life
Before discovering Musical Minis, Katherine was the brand manager for the Regional Development Agency for North East England. Whilst on maternity leave Katherine discovered Musical Minis in Durham with her son Archie when he was just four months old and quickly realised that she could work for herself and have a more flexible lifestyle, all whist including her family.
What she thinks about her Musical Minis Franchise
“Seeing how children develop and increase their confidence in the Musical Minis classes excites me the most about this business. Just seeing the excitement of the children as they come in and getting lots of cuddles at the end of a class is a pure joy! My Musical Minis franchise also fulfils my dream of balancing work and family life.”
Katherine’s ambitions for success…
Katherine already has several classes set up and running regularly although she is waiting until her youngest son Euan gets older before growing her business to its full potential. She explains “I would like to see Teesside and South Durham Musical Minis running classes every day of the week right across our area and for this I plan to employ staff to work with me to help deliver sessions. With effective marketing coupled with ‘mum’s recommendations’ we will ensure the growth of my business and hopefully see even more waiting lists for our classes!
What Karen Sherr, Director of Musical Minis says:
“Musical Minis has worked really well for Katherine as she plans to build the business as her children grow older and more independent. We get many enquiries from women looking to do just this because the business was designed with that in mind, so the model just fits.”
